Come join us for Season 4 of ARISE!
Here’s what your fellow parishioners
have been saying
about the personal impact of their experience
in an
ARISE group during Season 2:
“It made me feel part of…I had the feeling coming in that I was somehow an outsider. Now I don’t.”
“Knowing God loves me through all my faults.”
“The four new members that joined our
group and the wonderful positive energy they exude;
also the sincerity
and openness of all the members of our group.”
“The closeness of the group. Members want to be at the meetings.”
“Answering the questions after the
Scripture readings.
They forced me to look deeper into myself and
became more open to others than I thought I would be.”
“Enhanced my desire to do more in living the life of love, compassion and service to others that Christ wants me to do.”
“Getting to know the people in my group at a deeper level. I knew them from church, but not this well.”
“I feel we have become like family - or we are a family.”
When did you feel the most energy coming from your small community?
“When members identified with another’s
shared experience.
Caring was very evident, empathy flowed freely and
there was no judgment expressed.”
“When we shared laughter.
When we were
able to acknowledge and identify with the ideas and actions of others
in the group.
With the sharing of self both during the sessions and
after, at our refreshment sharing.”
“In reality every time I attend my ARISE
meeting, I get energized.
Sharing with the group the Gospel and the
love of Christ is great.”
In what ways is belonging to a small Christian community important to you?
“It keeps me aware of my faith and keeps me accountable.”
“I feel part of a community and not just a face in church.”
“Very - It gives me a sense of peace.”
“It helps me realize that I am not alone in my struggles to be more like the person I want and need to be.”
“It is good to know that others share
the same beliefs;
that others will support and pray for you honestly
and sincerely;
that we are able to welcome each other with open arms;
that we can share our ideas without fear of embarrassment or challenge.”
